In the article an as yet unpublished painting showing the Head of a Young Man is being presented as an early work by Titian, with a date of about 1511–1516. Both the attribution and the chronology are based on stylistic and technical arguments. The picture is a typical example of the category of poetical (pseudo)portraits Titian painted early in his career.
